The best time to visit the historic cities of Minas Gerais is during the dry season, from April to September, thanks to ideal weather and fewer crowds.
However, remember that during Easter, Carnival, or other local holidays, the cities are particularly crowded, requiring a lot of patience to visit churches and museums.

Day 1 - Belo Horizonte / Ouro Preto

Arrival at the airport of the city of Belo Horizonte and subsequent transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to the colonial town of Ouro Preto, covering about 140 km in 2 hours.

Overnight in Ouro Preto with breakfast included.

Day 2 - Ouro Preto / Mariana

At 08:30 am depart for a full day visit in the cities of Ouro Preto and Mariana.

Ouro Preto has many buildings in the baroque style, with its climbs and descents, with historic buildings that recall the history, richness and profound artistic splendor of the "epoch of gold".

Mariana still retains its characteristics in Baroque buildings decorated with stone "pedra sabao" handmade and is the oldest city in the state of Minas Gerais, as well as the first capital of the state.
It is worth to know the city on foot, where we can meet historical buildings and also the Cathedral "Basilica da Sé", one of the richest in Brazil.

The sequence of these visits may be altered depending on operational or climatic variations, without decreasing the time of the visits.

Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3 - Ouro Preto / São João Del Rei / Tiradentes /Congonhas

At 08:00 am , after breakfast , departure for São João Del Rei , where you can visit the old town with its museums and beautiful churches including the church dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, with its imposing imperial garden of palms and the magnificent decorations in stone "pedra sabao".

We will continue to Tiradentes, a small town where you will visit the church "Matriz de Santo Antônio" and the fountain "Chafariz de São José", where you can hear the numerous legends that surround it; we walk along the stone streets where you will find lovely local craft workshops and superb restaurants where you can enjoy the wonderful local cuisine.

During this trip you will know the town of Congonhas.
The mining center of Congonhas is famous for the largest number of works of genius Aleijadinho: the twelve prophets carved in stone and the figures of the "Via Crucis" carved into the wood completed from 1796 to 1799. The life-size sculptures are the most important treasures of Brazil.

Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 4 - Ouro Preto / Belo Horizonte
