Brazil is a year-round destination. The Pantanal is best from May to September during the dry season, when wildlife—especially jaguars—is easier to spot.

In the Lençóis Maranhenses, along the Route of Emotions, temperatures stay warm year-round (22°C–37°C), with full lagoons from June to September. The rainy season, from January to May, brings tropical showers and lush, breathtaking landscapes.

Day 1 - Seasonal features

Day 3 - Fortaleza

Arrival in Fortaleza and accommodation in hotel with air-conditioned vehicle.
The room will be available at check in time at 2:00 p.m., still being able to leave your luggage in storage and use the common areas.
This is the first step of the trip and starting point to visit the "Rota das emoções" of the "Route of emotions". 
Remaining part of the day is to visit the city.

Overnight stay in Fortaleza with breakfast.

Day 4 - Fortaleza / Jericoacoara

Leave Fortaleza at 07:30 / 08:00 to Jericoacoara, aboard air-conditioned Toyota 4x4 vehicle with a capacity of up to 6 people. This day we travel along a road that is approximately 5 hours, the shortest route lasting about 5 hours, along a non-panoramic road covering over 280 km of paved road, to arrive in the town of Jijoca, from where you will continue following a path in the sand of about 20 km until you reach Jericoacoara. 
Note: The allocation of seats is totally random and for those who want more comfort, we offer the possibility of a private vehicle in supplement.
Important: the municipality of Jericoacoara requires a stay fee, already included in the cost of the tour. The voucher that we will send you must be shown (in digital format) upon your arrival in Jericoacoara and also to the pousada where you will be staying (children up to 12 years and adults over 60 years are exempt from paying).
Important: There have been rumors circulating for a few days that a new environmental tax will be instituted in addition to the stay tax already included and paid in your itinerary but no timetable for when it will come into effect has been disclosed.The value is expected to be around R$ 50 (USD 9) per person and will be paid on the spot, although it has not yet been determined whether it will be collected at the hotel or otherwise. In case it comes into effect before your departure, I would like to point out that this cost was not included in our participation fee.

Day 5 - Jericoacoara

Breakfast at the pousada and the rest of the day free to explore the village of Jericoacoara and enjoy the world-famous beaches that offer favorable conditions for kitesurfing or just relax on the beautiful beaches.

At the end of the day you can admire the spectacular sunset from the “Duna do Pôr do Sol”.

Day 6 - Jericoacoara / Parnaíba

Departure at 8:00 in the morning in a private air-conditioned 4X4 to the city of Parnaiba, in the Piauì state. 
We travelling the panoramic route long a 40-km stretch of coast, through trails, edging sand dunes, palm trees and coconut trees on the way to Tatajuba where we get to know the lagoon "Lagoa Grande” and proceed until to the city of Camocim where we cross “Rio Coreaù” boarding a ferry and the trip continues along 50 km of paved road until we reach Chaval where we climb go up the observatory to see look over the small city with its houses constructed in the middle of giant rocks.
We then travel 75 km of paved road, passing through the dunes of Luis Correia until we reach the city of Parnaiba
We’d like to mention that the actual duration of each visit is influenced by the schedule of the tides and is decided at the moment of the excursion. 
We will stop for lunch (lunch not included) along the way and arrive at the inn around 1:30 pm.

At 2:30 p.m. departure from the pousada to reach the port dos Tatus about 20 minutes away, where we will start the boat trip to discover the Delta of Parnaíba, unique in the world for its variety of different landscapes like dunes, “igarapés”, mangrove and islands and that we can consider as a glimpse of the Amazon rainforest along the Route of the Emotions.

At the end of the excursion, the sunset, from July to January, offers the possibility of watching hundreds of fire-red ibises in flight to their own refuges in the middle of the forest, a truly amazing spectacle.

Day 7 - Parnaíba / Barreirinhas

Departure to Barreirinhas at 8:00 am by a private air-conditioned 4WD vehicle, duration of this trip about 4 hours.
On the firts part of the trip to Barreirinhas we follow 144 km of the paved road until reaching the town of Rio Novo and we will continue along the panoramic route along sandy tracks that in the rainy season can be flooded, crossing a stretch of dunes of the Little Lençois Maranhenses where we will meet incredibly beautiful landscapes, prairies slowly being invaded by sand dunes and native huts at the foot of the remotest desert.
Arriving at Barreirinhas between 12:00 and 12:30 pm and check-in in the hotel. Note: The route may vary depending on the season, because some trails remain flooded for several months of the year.

At 2:00 PM, after checking into the hotel, departure for an unforgettable tour in a non-air-conditioned 4x4 jeep. We'll cross the scenic Rio Preguiças and follow a sandy trail leading to the entrance of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. From there, we begin a hike across the breathtaking white sand dunes toward the stunning Laguna Bonita. In this natural paradise, you’ll have the chance to swim in refreshing, crystal-clear lagoons nestled among the vast dunes. These lagoons are formed by rainfall between February and June, creating vibrant green and blue pools, some reaching depths of up to 4 meters.
The landscape is constantly changing: strong winds, especially in the second half of the year, shift the dunes by up to 20 meters annually, making every visit unique.
Return to the city after 7:00 PM, following an unforgettable sunset over the dunes.

Day 8 - Barreirinhas

After breakfast, departure at 08:15 in a non-air-conditioned 4x4 jeep for an exciting day of exploration. The route follows a sandy track of about 30 km, passing through increasingly impressive natural scenery. The drive takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, until we reach the area where the first dunes of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park begin to appear.
We then continue toward the beach of the picturesque village of Atins, where the waters of the Rio Preguiças meet the ocean, creating a unique and charming landscape. After a short stop, we proceed for another 20 minutes to reach the stunning dunes, where we’ll find natural lagoons of extraordinary beauty: fresh, crystal-clear waters in shades of green and blue — perfect for a refreshing swim in a magical setting. 
Around 13:30, we’ll stop for lunch (not included) at a rustic and welcoming local restaurant, well known for the quality of its food. Among the specialties, don’t miss the famous grilled shrimp from Canto do Atins, a true local delicacy.
Return to the city is expected between 16:30 and 17:30, after a day filled with unforgettable landscapes and authentic flavors of Maranhão.

Day 9 - Barreirinhas / São Luís

Departure in the morning at 8:30 am (the check-out should happens before departure for the excursion, but you can let your baggage at the reception) to the port in Barreirinhas, set out in motorboat down Rio Preguiça towards the ocean.
The first stop is in the Vassouras region to visit the Pequenos Lençóis Maranhenses and see local fauna in the monkey tent known as “tenda dos macacos”; second stop is in the village called Mandacarú, a small fishing village where you can to appreciate various craft shops, the best caipirinha in the region at the kiosk on the pier and if accessible, you can climb up the light house called “Farol Preguiças” navy lighthouse to enjoy an enchanting panorama that embraces the entire mouth of the river and part of the National Park of Lencois Maranhenses; finally arriving at Caburé beach to eat lunch (not included in price) and swim in the river or sea.
Return to city after 3:00 pm.

About 4:30 pm an acclimatized transfer by minibus will bring you to São Luís, trip duration 5 hours, the arrival is estimated for 9:30 pm.

Day 10 - São Luís / Cuiabá

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and transfer in air-conditioned vehicle to airport of São Luis and flight departure.
Leave hotel 2 hours before plane take-off.

Arrival in Cuiabá and accommodation in hotel with air-conditioned vehicle.

Overnight stay in Cuiabá with breakfast.

Day 11 - Cuiabá / Porto Jofre

At 08:30 am transfer to Pousada, situated in the middle of Pantanal, which will be our starting point for various excursions.
Initially we will make a path of about 100 km of paved road until we reach the town of Poconé, from where we will start until you reach the town Porto Jofre, a beautiful journey of about 110 km along the famous Transpantaneira, a dirt road that goes into the Pantanal and along which you can see various animals, such as anteaters, monkeys, coati, alligators, capybara, jabirù storks and many other species of birds.

Arrival at the Pousada and free afternoon, dinner served until 21:00.
Note: Not all pousadas are located in the immediate vicinity of the Rio São Lourenço River, some are located in more inland areas.
At night the temperature sometimes drops below 20 ° C, take care to wear a sweatshirt to avoid getting cold.

Day 12 - Pantanal (Porto Jofre)

Breakfast in the pousada and departure at 07:00 / 08:00 am for a beautiful boat trips, depending on the location of the lodge, transportation may be done by traveling an initial 30 to 40 minutes by vehicle or leaving directly from the river by local boat; during the months between July and October there is a good chance of spotting jaguars when approaching the edge of the river, a very exciting meeting.
Also we will see the famous river giant otters "ariranha", tapirscapybarasalligators and other species that may appear along the banks of the river.
Lunch will be a snack / picnic or you can even go back to the pousada, depending on the programming of the lodge.
After lunch served until 14:00 we will continue the boat trip and the sighting of animals.

Dinner served until 21:00 and overnight stay at the pousada in Porto Jofre in the Pantanal.

Day 13 - Pantanal (Porto Jofre) / Cuiabá

Breakfast in the pousada.
Later transfer to the airport of the city of Cuiabá with air conditioned vehicle, along the dirt road Transpantaneira, the journey will take about 6 hours duration and will offer a last chance to spot during the car trip the animals that live in this amazing ecosystem.

Arrival at Cuiabà airport and end of our services.
